KOMANEKA AT BISMA UBUD BALI

I honestly can't remember how we found out about Komaneka at Bisma but wow, I'm so glad we did! We stayed here for a few brief days on a 3+ week vacation in Bali + Thailand and can say, hands down, this is the BEST hotel we have been to. You walk in and immediately are relaxed. This place is a real gem - the vista is so so beautiful and to feel like you are in the jungle yet to be only 5 minutes from town, incredible.
The rooms are stunning and huge! Every detail immaculate. The staff are genuinely friendly, the food the best we had in Ubud and the pool blissful.

Check-in is in the open-air and the receptionist greets you with the most delicious juice ever. Take a few steps and you have a breathtaking view of the forest and a rice terrace, right beside the pool you are looking over. Next, our room. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.!!!

I could gladly live in this room as my residence and be super-happy and it was the cheapest room available. The living room is just enough and a curtain is there to separate the bedroom.

The bathroom was built for a king with a huge glass shower and separate large soaking tub (relaxing!). The patio was outfitted with a table, 2 chairs and 2 lounge chairs. Most impressively, the rooms overlook the same gorgeous forest and rice terrace with a man-made fountain below to help increase the relaxing tone. So, accommodations were incredible to say the least.

On to the pool: just as impressive and beautiful. We only spent a short 20 minutes there but did so just b/c we didn't want to miss out.

Breakfast -- super-delicious with any choice of juice you would like and then a 3-course breakfast with menus to choose from including American, Balinese and Indonesian. We LOVED everything we had, especially the juice and were stuffed with no need for lunch. Service at breakfast was the best we had anywhere. The hotel is a VERY SHORT walk to Monkey Forest if you take a little back road (highly recommend) through some neighboring properties. It's about 10 minutes to Monkey Forest (also highly recommend).

The hotel runs a shuttle into town on a schedule and the driver was always super-happy. Cabs back to the hotel are cheap: about $3USD.

The spa is so beautiful with open air villas next to the river ….. What else can I say we really did have a truly wonderful honeymoon stay here!! we just wish it had been longer!

- Get a lift out to Gunung Kawi - its an 11th century temple cut into the rock face, a real experience…. be warned though its 300 steps down ( and then up)!
- See a dance performance in the Ubud Palace
- Visit the Water Palace for stunning photos
- when visiting the market the better deals can be found inside on the top floors..
