Set in 7 hectares and situated in tranquil bay bordering the West Bali National Park, Santi sari's 10 luxury suite are within a main house and guest house. Each section has their own swimming pool and large comfortable living are giving the relaxed feeling of staying in a beautiful Balinese Country House. The landscape gardens, lotus pools, temples, natural grounds and extensive private mangrove beach surrounded by mountains, all give breathtaking view and a feeling of total peach and serenity.
The words "relaxing" and "peaceful" are far too frantic to describe this little part of heaven on earth. The photographs on the web site really do not do Santa Sari justice as it is breathtakingly beautiful and makes you feel privileged to be allowed to stay there.
The rooms/bungalows are immaculate with a level of design and finish that just puts a huge grin on your face every time you walk in or wake up. I stayed in Banyan 1 which had the additional attraction of a massive bath carved out of granite which was warmed by the sun, big enough for two and took a surprisingly short time to fill.
Just the way to unwind after an exhausting few hours checking out the piles of cushions on the luxurious canopied daybeds, Olympic-standard floating around in the pool, (take your pick of two) or a gruelling marathon session on the sun loungers. Dry off with a big fluffy towel and slip on the complimentary sarong (not quite David Beckham but I thought I looked good) while you summon the energy to put a few clothes on and ring for a couple of pre-dinner gin and tonics to be brought to your verandah.
If you look particularly drained they will even pour your tonic for you. You then have to head to the pool side restaurant where you are relentlessly bullied by lovely, smiling, and attentive staff into eating delicious meals which are beautifully presented and served at a gentle pace allowing you time to savour the food and the views in equal measure.
Eventually you have to summon your last vestiges of strength to walk back to your room but be careful as you might develop a nastily cricked neck trying to take in the countless millions of stars, as light pollution has not been discovered here yet. I cannot speak highly enough of this resort, so thank you Carole and your wonderful team who made us feel so welcome and who simply could not do enough to ensure that we wanted for nothing. Ten days had flown past in no time and saying goodbye to you all left a genuine lump in our throats.
