BALAM BALI VILLA MENGWI

In August, we spent four days in a Vila of Balam Bali. From the airport we were picked up on time as agreed by a driver from the hotel. The place itself is lovely, located in the middle of the rice fields, close to the village if you want to explore local life. Perfect for peaceful holiday without shops, bars and all that.

The room was large and very stylish. The bathroom was huge. With a large rain shower and a corner bath It is evident at first glance that you have made in establishing many thoughts. The Vila team is very pleasant, unobtrusive and friendly. The owner was very concerned about his guests, there prevails a very personal atmosphere.

The villa looks out over fields of rice. It is interesting to watch the local farmers work the fields. There is also a canal the runs through the back of the field behind the villa which has been a local swimming and bathing hole for the local men for many years. They would show up throughout the day and evening. One afternoon they signaled us to come down and join them for a swim and skinny dip and it was a wonderful local experience.

The menu is straightforward, everything we ate was delicious and freshly prepared (must try the homemade vanilla ice cream). For transfer back to Ubud and it is definitely worth always order a driver from the hotel, it's just cheaper. Balam Bali is a very good starting point for excursions to centralization l and East Bali. It can also be found a perfect place to rest and relaxation. Highly recommended!
